Mission Statement: America's Heroes Rescuing America's Icon, giving a second chance to human and horse.

Warrior Ranch Foundation envisions a world where veterans and rehabilitated horses realize their productive future in society.

Annual Benefit -thank you to all who supported!

The 2025 Warrior Ranch Foundation Gala was a huge success! A good time was had by all as we honored Riverhead Building Supply, headed by Edgar Goodale. Brian Kilmeade of Fox News did an outstanding job as our emcee. The crowd enjoyed a performance by the Long Island Drill Team and a spotlight showcase of our ranch horses, Ranger, Sully and Chevy. Who are Those Guys provided great tunes and the food and raffles could not be beat! Thanks to all who came out and supported our event and to all the volunteers who made the day possible.

"warrior" is headed to mARYLAND!

"WARRIOR - A Battle Against Trauma: Learning to Love and Trust Again." has been officially selected to be in the EQUUS Film Festival!

We are super excited to be heading to Maryland for the screening, which will be Saturday, November 15th.

Directed and produced by Warrior Ranch Founder and President Eileen Shanahan and Media Specialist Danielle Altebrando, this powerful documentary explores the often overlooked struggles of veterans living with PTS and the healing potential of equine connection. We congratulate them on an extraordinary film.

An integral figure in the story is Warrior, the rescue horse whose own journey from abuse and neglect helped inspire the founding of Warrior Ranch. His resilience continues to reflect the mission at the core of our work: fostering trust, recovery, and connection between veterans and rescue horses.

Thank you to everyone who continues to stand with us. The mission isn't over.

How horses help our veterans and first responders

Bringing out the Inner Cowboy

Hear for yourself the challenges our veterans face when coming home and the impact Warrior Ranch has had. It takes courage to tell your story. Thank you to Ryan Secor, USMC, Geoff Costa, US Army, John Berger, USMC, Joe Mastanduno, USMC and Dani Koulermos, US Army for sharing your stories.

"Like a Rock"

“Like a Rock” was a slogan used to describe Chevy trucks, but it could also be used to describe Warrior Ranch herd member, Chevy. Strong, sturdy, reliable Chevy has been a valuable addition to the ranch. He’s a beautiful mover, a kind soul, and he slid into his roll as an equine therapy horse very smoothly. Chevy is rideable, dependable, and an all around sweet horse. The horses at Warrior Ranch are adoptable to the right home.

Due to Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD),  22 veterans die by suicide every day.

Due to neglect or retirement from race or show careers, there are over 100,000 unwanted horses.

Equine assisted therapy has been proven to reduce symptoms of PTSD.

Through horse interaction, Warrior Ranch provides a safe haven of healing and well being for veterans, first responders and horses.
